Coaching

Alpine Canada Alpin partners with the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation (CSCF) for development and delivery of coach certification and professional development programs for coaches working with able-bodied athletes and athletes with a disability.

The CSCF works closely with provincial sport organizations, ACA's National Development staff, CAST and CPAST coaches to help ensure consistent messaging throughout the system.

CSCF programs are part of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) and meet or exceed all NCCP standards. Coaching programs are built on the principles and progressions outlined in the AIM 2 WIN, Long Term Skier Development guidelines.

Two guiding policies ensure that coaches complete:

  • formal certification that is relevant to the level of athlete they are coaching.
(see ACA-CSCF policy for Coach Certification pdf_picto).
  • professional development and risk management activities, annually, that provide current and relevant updating.
(see ACA-CSCF policy for Ongoing Education and Coach Licensing pdf_picto).

  • Certification Program

Coach certification programs reflect the stages of athlete development.
